Our cytotoxicity testing method IOBA_CYTOTEST for perfluorocarbon liquids and other volatile, non-miscible in water medical devices has been externally validated. VISION R&D and IOBA offer to pharmaceutical companies its direct cytotoxicity test to determine if their intraocular surgery liquids are safe. This method follows the ISO Guideline 10993-5 and the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and it is patented (WO 2017/207845). It is recommended for final lots as a necessary complement to chemical analysis to guarantee the safety of these products. This direct method is mentioned in the new wording of the ISO 16672.2:2019 standard as one of the recommended and reflected in the bibliography.
